What does the cooling system do?
The main components
Cooling system accessories include: radiator, water pump, radiator electronic fan assembly, thermostat, water pump assembly, radiator water bottle, radiator fan, radiator lower guard plate, radiator cover, radiator upper guard plate, Thermostat cover, water pump pulley, radiator fan blade, tee, radiator water temperature sensor, radiator air ring, water pipe, radiator net, radiator fan motor, upper and lower water pipes, radiator fan coupler, radiator bracket, temperature control switch etc.
common problem
1. Engine overheating
Bubbles: The air in the antifreeze produces a lot of foam under the agitation of the water pump, which will hinder the heat dissipation of the water jacket wall.
Scale: Calcium and magnesium ions in water will slowly form scale after a certain high temperature, which greatly reduces the heat dissipation capacity. At the same time, it will also partially block the waterway and pipeline, and the antifreeze cannot flow normally.
Hazards: engine parts expand when heated, damage the normal fit clearance, affect the cylinder filling volume, reduce power, and reduce the lubricating effect of oil
2. Corrosion and leakage
Ethylene glycol is highly corrosive to water tanks. And with the failure of antifreeze preservatives. Corrosion of components such as radiators, water jackets, water pumps, and pipelines.
how to maintain
1. Selection of cooling water: river water with low hardness should be used, such as well water, which should be boiled and softened before use. It is best to use antifreeze.
2. Pay attention to the technical status of each part: if the radiator is found to leak, it should be repaired. If the water pump and fan are found to be oscillating or making abnormal noises, they should be repaired in time. If the engine is found to be overheated, check whether it is short of water in time, and stop it if it is short of water. After cooling down, add enough cooling water. If the thermostat is not working properly and the engine operating temperature is too high or too low, it should be repaired or replaced in time.
3. Inspection and adjustment of fan belt tightness: If the fan belt tightness is too small, it not only affects the cooling air volume and increases the engine workload, but also accelerates the wear of the belt due to slippage. If the belt tightness is too large, it will accelerate the wear of water pump bearings and generator bearings. Therefore, the belt tightness should be checked during use and adjusted if necessary. If it does not meet the regulations, it can be adjusted by changing the position of the generator and the adjusting arm.
4. Regular cleaning of scale: After the engine has been used for a certain period of time, scale will be deposited in the water tank and radiator to affect heat dissipation, so it should be cleaned regularly. The cleaning method is to add enough cleaning liquid to the cooling system, soak for a period of time, and start the engine After running at low and medium speed for a certain period of time, release the cleaning solution while it is hot, and then rinse it with clean water.
